Meditation Made Simple

an afternoon workshop

Saturday 6th September in Great Finborough

3 to 4.15pm

About this workshop

Meditating may not always be easy, but it is simple. This 75 minute workshop will demystify meditation and also bust some common meditation myths (spoiler alert – you don’t need to empty your mind of thoughts to meditate). You’ll leave the session knowing how to meditate on your own, without a device or app (and appreciating why that’s an empowering and even life changing skill to have), along with guidance on how to start and maintain a home meditation practice. There will also be the opportunity to have your meditation questions answered.

This is for you if:

  • You’ve always wanted to experience the benefits of meditation, but haven’t been sure where to start
  • You’ve tried meditating on your own, but have become discouraged for any reason
  • You want to meditate, but haven’t been able to make a home practice stick

Please note that there is no requirement to sit cross legged on the floor. Chairs will be available and as part of the workshop we will be exploring a range of meditation postures accessible to all.

What students say about my meditation teaching

‘I have had several goes at learning to meditate, without much success. Since I started going once a week to Catherine’s class, I have been able to develop a regular meditation practice, that has helped me to stay clear-headed and calmer. I am able to reset my mood quicker when I have gone a bit wonky, and have developed a deeper connection to, and understanding of myself. Catherine has a lovely gentle persistence that is very encouraging. Her practical ideas to help stay on track and bed meditation into everyday life mean that it has been easier to be consistent and get the benefits of meditation in real life.’ Linda

‘I have found meditation and mindfulness to be very beneficial to stay present in the moment. It has been a very good practice in my everyday life – it brings me relaxation and peace. I personally have been using it as a recovery tool for grief  and depression. Catherine is a wonderful teacher full of kindness and wisdom. I would highly recommend anyone who is struggling with the stress or strains of everyday life to try this meditation and see if you receive the same benefits of feeling better as I have.’ Sandra

Whether I’ve been consistent with my own practice or not, Catherine’s meditation classes have provided me a valuable opportunity to touch base with my intentions. She creates such a welcoming and explorative space where I’ve never felt judged for asking questions or sharing my experiences.’ Robbie
